Lady April Mixon
Sylvester Mixon Jr. is the pastor and founder of Unity Christian Center (UCC), a rapidly growing and spirit-filled church in Alabaster, Alabama.
As the founding pastor of Unity Christian Center, Sylvester, now in his seventeenth year as senior leader, has served in many facets of church leadership and ministry. Reared and raised in AME church, he went on to plant and grow UCC, seventeen years ago. Some of the roles Sylvester has served in are executive assistant to the Bishop, event planner, armorbearer, 20 years as a pastor, minister of music, church administrator, and youth minister.

Hudson Speer | Executive Administrator to Bishop
Hudson joined Team Unity in early 2023. Hudson serves as Executive Administrator to our lead pastor, Bishop Mixon. He helps with all things administrative, like scheduling, church communications, etc. Hudson is passionate about the integration of Christian faith in mental health and is currently pursuing a master's degree in clinical mental health counseling.

TaBrena Horton Johnson | Chief Financial Officer
TaBrena helped found Unity Christian Center in December 2006. TaBrena serves as the Chief Financial Officer leading two teams. TaBrena is happily married to Howard Johnson.

E Tony Gaines | Pastor of Worship
Tony joined Team Unity in early 2024. Tony serves as our Pastor of Worship. He helps with all things worship, music, and some production etc.

DaQwon Carr | Excellence & Events Director
DaQwon is the Excellence and Events Director here at UCC. He is happily married to Erica Carr. DaQwon enjoys planning excellent services and events that provide a top-notch experience for attendees.

Tameka Wooley | Director of Kids Ministry
Tameka joined the Unity Christian Center leadership team in 2013 as the Director of Kids Ministry. She is happily married to Chad Wooley and together they are blessed with 6 amazing children. Tameka has extensive years, certifications, and has served as an early childhood development director.

Karen Norris Richardson | Church Secretary
Karen joined Team Unity in 2010. Since then, she has served as UCC's office administrator. Karen is happily married to her husband, Raymond and together they have two amazing sons.
